Renault R5 GT's are about as rare as Rockinghorse S*#t down here in Australia, so I've been trying to sort out an equivalent. Whilst doing a little bit of research on turbine trim's and A/R's I found some useful information and was after someone to verify this for me...
From what I've heard from people on this forum is that the R5 GT T2 exhaust turbine housing is relatively hard to source? With 0.35 A/R and 58 Trim. But I found the exact same measurements on the GT1544 turbo which are apparently found on '96 onwards 1.8L Escorts. I've heard these are suitable units for the small block A series (998)and was wondering if anyone had one to see if it was possible to fit the turbine off the GT15 to the T2???*oh well*

My problem would be that it will be used on a 1430 injected engine.*happy*
I understand that it is a good fit for the 998's etc. but what about the big bore/stroked engines....

I'd hazard a guess that with the increased gas volume from a 1430 displacement engine, you would be able to use a Metro-spec T3 and drive it into boost at a fairly respectable engine speed......just a guess but worth thinking about I'd say......

1430 ??
about the turbo, you can't use gt15 pats on the t2 one, if you are looking on gt15 turbo's try a gt1549 for your big cc's , if you need I can send a t2 0.35 a/r or more, they will suite your T2 turbo (what is it from?).
about your engine, have you already a 1430 or do you want to make one? , it will make a glass engine, rods bearings have already difficultys to withstand on the piston face on the 1.75's (to much push effect) , it'll be worst on the little ones.

im using a t2 of a nissan pulsar et turbo, which seems to be nearly the same as a r5gt turbo

they are quite cheap to, i picked up a hiflowed one for $90, and they usualy sell for around $120 on ebay.

1152cc turboed mini clubman, most powerful 1.1L a-series?
