hi all new to site been reading everything I can before asking questions as well as before spending lots of cash lol*smiley*.

I have bought a metro turbo engine in almost complete but stripped form and I am trying to work out the good from the bad to allow me to do a good rebuild.

My question is does any one recognise these pistons there new, never fitted look and feel like there alloy, rods have been filed for weight so someone seems to have known what they were doing I HOPE lol.

any help thanks tony

Is there any marking on the crown or on the underside of the piston?

At a guess 15cc forged omega's. But yes look under the crown.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Well been to look at numbers on pistons today only to find my garage door has jammed shut and I dare not break in it until I have time to repair any damage I cause breaking in.

Talk about bad luck its seems this could be a bad week for me lol.

Anyway I have pic's on my phone of the head I got which has had work done also.
As I said I know nothing about what's been done as the fella I got it off didn't have any of the work done
himself just think he passed it on making a bit of cash.
It looks on the pic's like it got a crack but its just a stain on the steel from what I can see.

The valves look new and I thing its been ground out around them do you agree

thanks again

Someone has definitely been at the head and taken material out, worth measuring the CC's so you know where you stand.

Easiest way to do it is using a CD and a syringe, grease the head face around the chamber thinly to stop fluid leaking out, place the cd over the chamber with the hole in the middle, and squirt thin oil/water/spirits/thinners etc in until it reaches the top and record what you put in, Id also take it out recording what is removed, and then take an average of the two if they're very close. Do this for all of the chambers, And it's also a good way of finding out how well the valves seal in the head, if there's anything in the ports after, try relapping the valves, failing that it may need the seat recutting or something, following an inspection from an expert. If you find it hard to see the clear liquid you can add food colouring or something, make sure there are no bubbles in the chamber when full too.

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Lake District

The chambers look like they've just had the beak removed but are otherwise standard. If the head's unskimmed, I'd guess they're about 23cc, but as said above it's best to check.

hi all thanks for the reply's I'm going to check first chance I get.

I thought the head had just had the nose removed but also thought the valves looked unusual or
is that just me.

As far as I can see both the head and the block have been to a engineering company called Hadley engineering ltd as there name is on both.

Anyone heard of them ???

thanks
