Hi guys just wondering if some of the more knowledgeable people can help me a bit. I currently have an spi mini which i have begun to strip back. Im going to get rid of some of the excess parts as i want to take it back to carb or possibly turbo it. Will there be many hinderances along the way? I believe the piston rings are different but im going to eventually have the engine rebuilt before the build anyway so that shouldnt be much of a problem. I have a fairly competant auto elecy to help with the wiring loom (albeit not a mini enthusiast). Any help would be appreciated guys! Thanks in advance

Once you pull the fuel injection stuff off just treat it as a normal 1275cc engine and do what you like with it *tongue*

convert a few back to hif44 with no issues.
as carlzilla says just ditch all the FI and treat as normal 1275.

its easy to swop the front loom too.

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

we turned an spi setup to run carb/ turbo / megajolt in about a day. not too hard, with the correct heynes diagram.

it was a while ago but I believe that the spi ecu basically runs the spi ignition system...so if you were planning on running mj or another aftermarket ignition system it is just as easy to chop the spi loom up

The only difference I found as such apart from all the obvious stuff was actually the transfer case of the gear box

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*
