Just out of curiosity, does anyone elses fuel pressure bounce when the ignition is on? Mine seems to hold 4 psi while the ignition is off and no power to the pump for a while then slowly drops off, but with the ignition on it bounces between 3 and 5 psi on the gauge. I'm just using a cheap fuel pressure gauge and is plumbed in right between the inlet to the carb and the regulator.

my facet pump? (makes a tic tic sound) got some grit stuck in it once and it didn't hold pressure the result was pulsing fuel pressure like you have by the sounds i just cleaned out the top part on my pump (the valve bits) and all was well think it was just one of the gates stuck open so not letting the pump hold pressure altho it still got up to pressure it just droped off between pump diafram movements |

Thank you both for the info. I think i'll give the regulator and pump a good clean out and see if it steadies it out a bit. If its not something to worry about then i'll tick it off the long list of possible misfire causes! Thanks! |
