Hi can anyone tell me about the replacement coil springs that r made to replace the rubber cone ? my question is about which one to choose, most peoples are telling me to choose the blue ones for typical road use being the softest. then there is the red the next step up for fast road rallying hard driving, then the black r in some cases green which is the same n are labeled for track use. my mini will never c a race track ever but I do want a good ride. so is anyone using these and if so which ones and how are they riding ? I was kinda leaning towards the red but im concerned if they may ride too hard.

I've got red ones on my Union Jack car, and the straightline ride is quite pleasant at near hydro levels of ride quality.
Cornering is 'different' to rubber or hydro, and has some odd mid-corner behaviour.
Loaded they are hopeless. Rubber has rising rate characteristics but the coils don't. Chuck any weight in the car and is sits down on the bumpstops.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

Who's coils do you have Alex? We installed a Minitastic set-up in a customers Vauxhall engined Mini that rode very nicely.

I've been considering Minitastic coils combined with front and rear ARBs for my estate. It should in theory provide a fairly modern ride.

Hey alex what kind of strange behavior are u experiencing ? is it like an oversteer or understeer condition ? you mention its mid corner noticeable maybe its an alignment. any way thank you and everyone else for your comments. I have two friends with the blue springs and they swear they will never go back to rubber cones again, I was just wondering if the red would be two stiff for daily driving. I wont see a race track but I do auto cross at times. thx again to all.

Which make of springs though? I've witness the quality and some are terrible, i know a few people (including myself) running the race springs and very happy with them, moreso than running red dot cones
