Hi all,

I've been thinking of selling my turbo mini, as I've lost all enthusiasm to get it finished, it's sitting in the garage doing nothing. I'm struggling to put a price on it and thought I'd ask for your advice. I guess most people will say break it for parts, but it's criminal to do that imo, it deserves to get finished and enjoyed by someone.

Anyway, a quick few details about the car:

1995 mini sprite (originally an spi). Had a full restoration and respray 3 years ago, but then sat in the garage for 2 years. Has been drivable for the last 12 months. It's not a concourse job, but it is to a very high standard imo. There are a few paint chips from the rebuild, as to be expected, and the drivers door door swung open and hit the a panel causing the paint to crack on the door slightly.

Engine:
Metro engine rebored to 1293
Omega cast pistons
Nitrided crank
MED T3 cam
Turbo Phil worked head (36×30 I think)
1.5:1 roller rockers
MED lightweight verto flywheel
Metro turbo clutch kit
Straight cut drop gears
X pin diff (MED)
Metro turbo carb and manifolds
Nic plenum
T3 turbo
Maniflow downpipe
Turbosmart dump valve
Ah fabrications intercooler
Silicone and alloy pipes
Oil cooler
2 core rad
Megajolt v4 setup.

The list goes on.....

Suspension and brakes:
1.5* negative camber arms
Adjustable tie bars
Gaz shocks
Hi lo's
Poly bushed etc
Minisport vented alloy 4 pots (7.9")
Braided hoses all round
New brake pipes throughout.

Interior:
Corbeau forza sports bucket seats
4 point harness ×2
Rear seats and bins removed
Extra fusebox setup
Heater removed
fibreglass dash + centre clock
5 additional gauges
Carpet set.

That's a quick spec off the top of my head, probably forgotten lots.
The mot expired last month, it will have 12 months when I've done a few little jobs (snapped wheel stud, cv gaiter, front plate etc). tax expires 31st December.

What's needed to finish? Needs a rolling road setup. Engine runs fine at the moment, ran in for 500 ish miles with no boost, now have turned it up a little, pulls really well, can tell there there is great potential there.

Ideally the clutch could do with being uprated, my my guess is the metro turbo would slip at 120 ish hp.

The fuel pump could also be uprated. It's on an spi currently, but I have an external high flow to fit.

There are a few little jobs that need to be done, eg couple of missing screws, nothing major.

Here are a few pics, thanks in advance for your help, sorry for the essay

Thanks again, James

Forgot to mention, in the last 12 months of it being roadworthy it has done approx 750 miles. Most parts (almost all engine) were new, including the 6x12 mambas with a539 tyres.

Yeah that's what I thought. Shame because it's such an easy project for someone, easily do able ready for summer.

not meaning to repeat what dan has said but i bet you would double your money if you break it, something as modified as this will appeal to such a small market i feel you would almost have to give it away

modified is probably the incorrect word, customised fits better, and customised is a personal thing

the market seemes to have picked up alot recently though
to the right buyer i would value it in the 3-4k bracket
and i base the price purely on parts value ( ie imo you could get 3k worth of parts off it)

Thanks for the input! I know it's a hard decision to make, I've had it for almost 7 years and spent so many hours and £'s making it into the car it is now. I just feel I need to move on to other things,

Thanks for putting a figure on it Brett, gives me something to go off. . Lots of thinking to do!

Yeah sounds like a plan, thanks. I could do without the hassle of braking really, don't want things left over not selling, and getting dribs and drabs of money coming in. Would prefer to sell complete.
