Hi Guys,

I have brought the long brass manifold nuts from minispares as it was a real pain getting a socket onto the short ones which came as standard. At the moment there are spring washers under the nuts. I was thinking that it would be better to replace the spring washers with plain flat washers as the spring washers will chew up the brass nuts. The spring washer is intended to stop the nut from rotating.... is it a bad idea to remove the spring washer? As long as the nut is tightened properly then a spring was is not really needed is it?

Cheers,
Mark

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

Hi mark, spring washers will not stand the heat, and will fail, just. Fit the flat washers and retighten the brass nuts when hot.

Hope this helps.
