With a DTi/dial gauge on the rim.

OK, I guess a less-accurate method is to do it with something that doesn't move and just see if a gap appears?

fit it to a hub and spin it you should see even a slight bend with the eye imo Yes i moved to the darkside |

What i would do is take them to your local tyre bay and get them to spin them up on the balancing machine. You'll soon see any bent ones. Might cost you £20, but you'll have it done in less than 30 min start to finish.

I agree with tom on this one, bent wheels usually are miles out of whack for ballance weights.

I can't get them all to the tyre place - all the wheels have tyres fitted and even nicky's impreza only first 4 in it.

sounds like it would be worth your while getting a dial gauge. They aren't that expensive and will be useful when you build your engine.
