dont need to do this yet but need to permanently rectify the bodging of someone else.

historically I used to die grind the slot out and braze a copper brake pipe in the slot.

they have drilled tapped the slot with a chain of grub screws then milled them off... looks to be leaking at the fire ring...

Saw one TIG welded before, not got a TIG.

Thoughts?

hi the skimming into the oilway, is almost defacto on these getting the compression ratio up to where it needs to be to be competitive,

SCRAP because of the way it has previously been (searching for a word to describe using grub screws in a head) all of them are expletives! ???

Its not a Metalock repair is it ? These are usually pretty good, but if someone has been trying to copy it then it seems they have failed.

Unless the head has had a lot spent on it it might be best to get another

think its more a wan%er repair.. head is one of the cleanest castings come across and goes particularly well in standard class oval racing....

If its a decent casting, then worth repairing. All of the previous repairs need removing/drilling out then it can be welded up.

It should only need a light skim, and the welds dressing in the chamber and should be good to go.
