Right christmas has come and gone so i have had no excuse not to fix the car.

I have had many head gaket probs as i have been posting on here for the past couple of months.

The prob this time is:

No compression at all on no.2, the compression gauge does not even twitch, 134 are all fine - exactly the same as each other.

The only part of this engine that is not new is the crank and pistons from my last (Blown up) engine, aboviosly they all seemed ok or i would now have used them.

So what can cause complete loss of compression??

if you've got no compression at all it seems likely that it's a problem with one of the valves. Worth checking the following:

+Valve clearance;
+Valve cap and collits correctly installed and not broken;
+Valves aren't sticking in the guides;
+Valves aren't burnt out.

That's all I can think of. Hope it helps

a total lack of compression is almost definately valves - as wil says! Head off time!!!

I'd send your head to someone decent like Rob Walker, Swifty or VmaxScart to be looked at (flatness, guide/valve fit compatibility, cracks, seat seat, springs, etc...) as you've had no end of problems with it. It may prove worthwhile in the long run...

if u r sure everything up top is fine i.e head, valves, tappets etc id look at the block next.
did the machine shop test the valves are sealing properly in the seats?
have u checked the block for flatness? is the piston ok? are the piston rings ok and the end gaps not in line?
is it worth u takin the engine to the machine shop for them to check
if youve got no compression wot so ever it shouldnt take long for a machine shop to find the prob

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

I will take the engine out this weekend. Its never run properly since i built it (34 miles ago)

I reused the pistons from my last engine, it is in a recon block with a brand new head.

There is nothing at all wrong with my head or my current set up, therefore the problem must be down in the block. *indifferent*
