Other than the k1100 bmw bike heads. Has there been any other cylinder head conversions from other engines?

Would that be a punto head by any chance?

There have been other attempts, but non as successful, well documented and value for money as the K head.

The alternative is a lot of buggering around, head scratching and project delays.

Obviously you could go KAD, Jacknight, SC, AKM, etc.

I've noticed that the in thing is the K head conversion but the price reflects it as they seem to go up every time I look.

Ive seen the leyland version of ohc on an a series im suprised no one copied it for tuning upgrades.

I found a thread on the fiat head but it wasnt complete so dont know if it worked at all.

Some one mentioned a R6 head too I I guess that would be the same as the K head in a conversion sence.

The thing with the leyland OHC head was that it was still not a cross flow design. Makes you wonder what the point was, and probibly the reason they never put it into production.

What are you trying to achieve? Being different? or make the engine more powerefull?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

The Leyland OHC non-crossflow head was a genuine marvel, despite it looking wrong on paper.

A friend of mine had one fitted to his car (which I think is now at Huddersfield) and it not only gave great power but also amazing fuel economy when trundling along quietly.

Atm im not after either as ive just spent 150quid on a 1300 metro head having it freshed up. BuT I do have a spare bottom end that I could play with when ive had me moneys worth out the setup I have. Something in between standard and k100 would be better suited to a every day car that on occasion can go absolutely bat shit crazy when needed.

I would look at the SC 7-port then. Depending on your budget.

The K head can be done on the cheap, but it is all relative. A cheap 16v is still going to cost a fair bit.

the SC 7 port is about the only conversion that is vertually bolt on, anything else will need a significant amount of engineering to fit...

£150 won't get you running with any of those above mentioned though
