hi a khow its a turbo mini site but a cant get ahold of all the parts ware im from so, u think the 1380 powermax pistons 3 into 1lcb stage 3 head a weber 45 or 40 and a rally cam would give pritty high bhp and i was considering nos , kad quickshift and straight threw exhaust is this a good setup for a 1380? cheers

What do you plan on using the car for ? as your planning on fitting nitrous i guess it's not for rallying etc ? so i'll hazard a guess it's a Fast road/trackday car ?
It shouldn't be to difficult to build a decent 1380 which is road usable and has 95-100hp or so.
If so, Powermax pistons seem to be of decent quality, at least i've never heard anything bad about them, a large bore LCB should be ok, a stage 3 head from a "reputable" company should also be adequate. Bear in mind the specs can vary quite a lot, you'll be best off ringing somebody like Stuart at Vmax Scart and seeing what he recomends. A 45 Weber will be ok, or you could look at the much underated single 1 3/4" SU ?don't even consider a 40 on a 1380. Something like a Kent 286 cam should be fine, i wouldn't go any bigger. Maniflow do a decent range of exhausts you want something like an 1 3/4" system, or the legendary RC40 should also be fine. KAD quickshift won't make your engine any faster or more powerful ?
Bear in mind the rest of the engine will have to be well built, including the transmission, especially if you plan on running gas as well !
If you do not already own it, i suggest buying "Tuning the A-Series" by David Vizard this will open up a world of useful info.

Forgotten more than most ever know

I used to run n/a 1380 years 10+ years ago. My setup was 7 cc Omegas (std height) flush at the deck, offset bored, Kent MD286 cam, 36/31 valves, 1,5 rockers, big bore lcb, own cylinder head with 19,5 cc chambers. I had twin HS4 carbs and got 111 hp. IIRC CR was somewhere around 11:1.

If you are not experienced with Weber and don´t know a good rolling road operator with loads of jets, forget it. Use the HIF 44 with a good manifold, it will be more than enough for the job.
