Gents,

I've almost finished the mini and am looking for some track days next year, something to give me inspiration to finish them final bits.

Can anyone recommend any specific places or is there any that's organised I can try and get in on.

Should be good fun.

Cheers

David

My advice is, in a Mini forget the bigger circuits, its a small nimble car so corners are what it is about. Go somewhere like Silverstone and you'll spend the day frustrated as 800bhp monsters roar past you on the straights at 140mph then do 30mph round the corners holding you up.
Mallory Park depending on what happens to it is a good first trackday as its a short circuit hence easy to learn. Cadwell Park is my favourite but demands respect as there is little run off.
Also do not underestimate how hard it is on the car, brakes suspension and cooling systems need to be in top order.

Ps
Organisers wise, I like Javrlin trackdays, they are good value for money. Some if the bigger names like Book a track seem to attract a lot of rich boy wankers and in my opinion are best avoided!!

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

Javelin are a good company , very relaxed atmosphere and always will to help / talk to you.
They usually run 2 different days , open pit lane or sessions .
Sessions are usually 15/20 mins every hour. The prob with that is you feel abliged to stay out until the end of the session .
I much prefer open pit , basically you can come in and go out as much as you like .

The nurburgring is pretty cool depending on how much power you have and how well you learn the track there will proberly be a lot of people over taking you but IMO its about having fun in your car as no mini is gonna beat a porche gt3 RS as there like dog shit out there
