hi, I'm new here so please beer with me.
I dont have a mini, but a datsun which has a A12 pushrod which is based on your mini engines.

So i would be very please if u can share some more of your info with me....i have read some other threads and found other usefull info(must say its the most i have found on turbo pushrods).

I'm Looking to build a blow through setup for my A12.I Want to keep it as simple as possible but make some good hp and torque.

1) I have seen the pics on here and most ppl still use a SU carb, What sort of hp do u guys get with your setups using this carb?

2) I realise they are the turbo Su's from the metros, i dont think i can get one of those here...but i have plenty normal Su carbs..is there any way i could modify these for my blow through setup??

3)Has anyone ever used 2 Su's in there setup??if so what extra hp and torque did it gain(if any) over a Single Su setup??

those r jus some question 4now....
thanks.
Jus the Suck through system it has write now(was built for a little fun)

figures as high as 225 bhp have been seen with a single su, I don't think anyone ever tried twin carbs, but ballancing them would be fun! Jukka (one of the guru's on here) has used a webber (i think) as simular to the Janspeed metro turbo, but he advices staying with the su.

225hp thats alot for a mini....Was actually looking at 200hp from my A12.But can the normal 1 3/4" Su's handle that sort of power?

The main question is, wat mods need to be done to the normal SU carbs for them to handle boost on a Blow Through setup?

Hit the search button - it has been discussed many times, and there is even a picture to help.

You will never, ever, get the older HS carbs to work in blow-thru. You need the HIF versions. Finding the metro one (ebay for example) makes everythign sooooo much easier.

Mr Turbo a-series.

We know nothing about you - at all. Are you from Malaysia? Maybe Russia? Maybe Mars? All we know is it's somewhere that no vehicle with a HIF ever made it to.

Help us out, fill in your profile and we can see if we can help better.

ahhhh - Makes sense now!

Have you tried pricing up a carb and plenum off ebay including delivery? It might make you squeal at first, but they are GREAT carbs, and the Metro plenum is optimised for that carb so fuelling is consistent as boost rises...

Not very sunny swanage

do a search for fuel injection. i assume the same factors apply for mechanicla as normal..... youll have a fair bit to read..... i would stick with a good old fashioned su tbh.

Just wondering why you are wanting to use a blow through when seven enterprise made a suck through which made in the region of 200bhp think they used the old 510 cam and i believe it was also using the old groved bearings aswell on a twin choke weber.

This is only from memory so correct me if I am wrong!!!

Just an idea save complicating things and keep to the old suck through maybe improve the breathing with a bigger SU or webber a bit of head work/manifolds etc, Bleed valve and your away.

As i understand seven enterprises didn't make that much power from their kits... Only one, which used an oversized (too large) turbo when they were developing the kits.

Remember, they were non-intercooled aswell... Draw thru sucks (in all respects).

Re mechanical EFI - It is interesting you think this'd be easier than sourcing a HIF SU and using that! Mechanical efi will NOT work at all.

Do a search for 'injection' using the search option at the top of the page. I wrote a really long explanation some time previously, explaining it in basics related to the A-series head.

You are correct - efi on an engine with the same number of inlet tracts as it has cylinders is really easy - when they're shared - problems begin!
