hi chaps, hope you are all having a great xmas

I am considering playing about with the turbo install on my car, and will need a small alternator in order to do this.

I know there are some threads on here but not looked into this before - was wondering what small alternators people have used, and where the best suppliers are?

also I will be looking at moving my rad (std position) closer to the inner wing - can anyone advise if there are such brackets in existence to do this? if they can be bought off the shelf great, if not I can make something up.

thanks a lot, dan

Use the search function before buying stuff from me...

Same alternator I got, managed to get mine new boxed about 40quid.
I'd whip up some brackets or maybe clubman bracket Is wider

thanks simon. my brother runs something very similar on his car. he made the brackets up when he had access to forming/bending tooling.

im going to go and have a look in the garage later, to see if the new intercooler that I have will even fit, even after moving things about. if it looks promising I will look at getting some 90 degree angle alloy. I know that this will not just bolt on (think my brother said that the front bracket certainly has more than a 90 degree bend, tapering towards the top, but it should be a good place to start.

cheers, dan

Yes I did it by hand in the end as I could not get it right.

have spent half the day down the garage. I need to get some more work done to my intercooler end tank, it may be that I don't need to relocate anything yet. going to see how the intercooler turns out before moving the rad and changing the alternator, it may not even be reuired
