Been using the search button and 99% sure i've found what i'm looking for but.........

Is the correct location for a minispares turbo box (Rob S picture)

As the pre-cut section matches the cross member.

The only reason i ask is i've seen them in a couple of different places, either more to the left or right.

Its too close for my liking and you never know what lies round the corner *smiley*
Only have a coupe of millimeter clearance with the engine tilted forward and want actuator in sort of original position.

I like your thinking - plenty of space for a bigger turbo later on

I seriously doubt it!

I have about 10mm and all is good! If you don't want to cut your car up.

It would be fine if one of the retaining bolts for the snail wasn't there *surprised*

The plan was not to cut a box in but now the time has come it seems stupid not to do it, and there's always the chance i may change the turbo later on.

Cant see my changing to the T3 as its a little old now maybe a GT20 but think the GT1752 should be fine for the boost i'm looking at running.

Already had that with the weber at MITP this year, going to fit all 3 box mounts and solid engine mounts, and ditch the crappy quick release ones that i ended up taking the bolts out as the pins were stuck.

I would advise not putting the box in. Better to just make a small modification to allow clearance where you need it.

Whats your thoughts on NOT fitting the box wil?

Need clearance for the turbo and actuator so there would be a large section missing anyway.

As for structural the mini is fitted with a welded in cage, which is tied in to the A pillars and has a dash brace.

I had a box in the hillclimber and the whole front went floppy after a few seasons.

having the cage tied into the A-post will help, but I'd still be tempted to keep the bulkhead box section as intact as possible.

When looking at the pictures and the space available how about inverting the middle section of the cross member?

(top becomes flat, 'carb cutout section' at the bottom to give the turbo some extra space)
