i made solid stainless mounts for my cossie 2wd one. though on a trip to the rollers it had to come out, to do leakdown etc. I never bothered using the mounts again, just left it in the engine bay! at full chat on the rollers the cooler didn't move at all, the hoses were bulging massively though, looked like they would pop!!

not an IC but mounted mine on some i think exhaust hanger or shifter mounts they just have a thread out each side with rubber in between not used the car tho but i think it will be good as there is a bit of give yet held still just one each side and the top is supported from some 3mm? rod bent with some thick rubber hose for a bush n a plate to mount under some std bolt holes

how much boost was that at?
what brand/supplier of hoses?
or is it normal for the silicone hoses to expand?

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

you need to mount the cooler so its tied to the engine and not fixed to the bodywork, many peeps make this mistake fixing it to the body work and when the engine rocks about it fooks it all up, ... even it the engines welll mounted & secured correctley!!

use some exhaust bobbins to aid things from the interclooer to the engin use your imagination andy,*smiley*

my understanding was the silicone boost lines had enough give to be ok
your advising that i make some solid brackets to the block and rubber mount rads to that?
ive not got to much space to work with

Rubber mounting the intercooler to the body is the way to go, the hoses will have enough give.
Afterall if you have a front mounted rad you don't generally fasten that straight to the engine.
