Been donated a tank for the turbo build BUT its a SPI *frown*

Done some research and seems this is not capable of providing enough fuel for a mini running 16psi.

Do read that you can put another pump in the tank from a honda or ford?

The question is does anybody know or have a link for the correct pump required.

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

You can get walbro (sp) in tank pumps. That will fit in place of the spi pump.

You can simply replace it with an mpi pump if you can get hold of one bud.

I use these Walbro conversions:

Cheers guys, read that the Walbro was an option but wasnt sure of the model.

255 it is then or attempt to locate a MPI tank but prob best to replace the pump as its then new, compared to a second hand one.

On another TOPIC, does anyone know if a TIM fuel gauge will work with a mini sensor?

No idea, but digital speedos sell a little gadget that i got with my digital dash that converts the mini sender into a resistance other gauges can read with a little calibration if it won't work straight off or with some minor additions etc

Pretty sure that's the one i was supplied with by digital speedos. Think they buy them off the guy in Andy's link. Incidentally the guy lives 10 minutes away from me!

Just a note here, and not that anyone will, but I advise against using the Walbro 255 pump with the factory SPi manifold. It'll over fuel like a bitch! I think its down to the tiny fuel reg in the injector housing.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Colin, i'm not running an SPI manifold.
It's for a Benross turbo engine, using the turbo fuel pressure regulator.
Which leads me to the next question is 4 psi correct at tickover?
