hi av just finished converting one of the minis from auto to manual its now fitted with a 1098 engine from a mg 1100 with a ported 12g940 head piper 270 cam lightened flywheel and twin 1 1/4"carbs from the mg it has 210psi of compression when I did a compression test. but I cannot seem to get it running properly it pulls really well then starts stuttering badly av changed it from points to electronic ignition but still the same. anyone got any ideas???????

Or some precision brutality

Sounds like it coul do with dyno tuning to get the fueling right. Twin carbs on an 1100 with an uprated cam and 1275 head will not like the needles from a completely different set up

Av been wondering about the fuel bowls emptying.The car is running a good old su pump it sounds fit but av never really looked at it av also been thinking about float hights. it would be nice to hav it set up on a rolling road but funds dont allow at the moment

Or some precision brutality

I have changed the needles and springs in the carbs also filled the dash pots up with 2050 oil almost fixed the problem but sill suttering not as bad you can actually drive the car now
