I've got a rebuild kit for a Metro turbo HIF44 which I'm currently stripping down. Can any of you guys tell me how the hell I get the tamper proof bolt out thats holding the float spindle?

cut a slot in it with a dremel type tool or drift it round with a small chisel. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
i tried putting soap on it , and heating it to brown , then slathered my new lube on it

Pretty sure I was able to undo mine with a small socket of some sort. Cant remember what though.

I struggled with this when doing mine, I found the easiest way was to clamp the carb and drift the bolt undone. Then with it off I cut a groove in the top with a hacksaw so a screwdriver can be used in future. http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.p...tid=469104&fr=0 |

Screwfix actually sell a tamper proof screw kit that comes with a screwdriver for these, you can also buy posi-drive bits with the correct fitting aswell |

I always cut a slot in them with a small cutting disc in the dremel. Then you can use a screwdriver to undo it.
