the studs/nuts are minispares competition head bolt set and have only been undone t times now and the head had been on since i was running the blower and running 15psi so i dont think they were loose as it would have gone way way before now.

Been looking at the minispares comp studs, they do quote 2 torque settings.
What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve

And they are on my clubby now. Not had a HG failure yet. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

The thing I've found with minispares stuff is, most of it works really well, but they get the odd quality issues now and then. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

One of the lads at the club snapped the top off one of the Minispares 'uprated' studs just torquing it down, and NO, it was not the torque wrench On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

I used to use the updated minispares studs, in this build I went for arp..... I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

hmmm. i rebuilt it today and got it running again. i took a closer look at the blown head gasket. its not a bk450 but a british gaskets one. cant think why i wouldnt of fitted a payen one last time i had the head off. just shows you if you dont fit the decent stuff, it will bite you in the arse sometime.
balls to the blower!!!
