gonna check if my cyl head is warped or not.

im thinking surface plate, clean head with valves removed and a dti gauge. sound ok??

someone i know suggested engineers blue on the surface plate and slide the head around a bit on it. think thats a bit shit though.

praying to god it doesnt need a skim or im fucked for my wedding.........

I bet it's not warped. The failure in your thread I don't see being caused by a warped head.

11 stud it and get the super studs from MS. I had this failure constantly at one point. I solved it by buying a new torque wrench.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

unless the head has been insanley cooked i doubt it as will says.

whats the background of the fault or faults why you removed the head stu ?

in 99% of cases it peoples "Grandads" torque wrench that they use is goosed,

well lad it was ok when i use it in the war ......lol

remember to torque the head to 55ft pounds .... no with you grandads wrench though......lol

checked my torque wrench on the calibrated analyser at work. had to do it to 65nm though as the thing is that complicated its a pain to swap. the wrench is slightly out. by about 5-8nm. i have the competition head studs fitted already wil. gonna see if i could drill it out to 11 stud in time. basically gonna have a week, and if it goes wrong. im fooked! ha

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

If you've got acces to a mill, can't you put it on some parallels and clamp it to the bed then run a dti along it?

If it is warped it's only a 20min job to skim it with a flycutter.

If not, surface table on some parallels then run a dti round it.

Be aware that if you are going the 11 stud route, the stud on the front next to the thermostat is only torqued to 25lb/ft.
My machinist has a round bar that (I assume) is quite carefully machined. He rolls it around over the head and checks to see if a feeler gauge will slip under it. Not as cool as using a dial indicator and a surface plate but much faster and will give you a real good idea if the head is warped and needs a surface.
