That buggy looks like so much fun!
You could always wrap the manifolds, no welding to be seen then *wink*

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

I only said new liner as the old one is likely to be full of dust etc from the mild steel wire running through it. Could lead to contamination.

Inlet will be sortor like this

Well I sort of listened and lengthened the centre runner, now they all have 3ish bends so are equalish length :)

Ran out of gas for the MIG though :(

That looks like it's worked out quite well, the longer inlet means the centre branch can be longer. Should together make for a good increase.

Paul S would that manifold work with a carb'd engine?
And you wouldn't happen to have a pic of the engine in a Mini would you? So I can get an idea of packaging and stuff.

Cheers

It would work with a carb.

We are hoping to shoehorn that lot into a steel front Mini sometime soon, as well as the other one pictured ^.

Going to use a twin pass intercooler and re-route the intake pipework to get it to fit, but it's a bit challenging.

Paul, what software did you use to model this?

I can't say because I do not have a legal copy. In fact my cracked license has ran out and I can't afford the $1000 a month for a legit copy *frown*

Sir Yun has detailed some reasonably priced software in his simulation thread.

Paul if I may ask a silly question maybe, with having a manifold with such long tubes, would you be losing some of thebheat energy in the exhaust which could maybe be beneficial for the turbo ? To be honest I just fabricated a log style manifold for my 998cc turbo project, thinking it was better performance-wise... only now I'm reading this thread. What are the thoughts ?

Also what bugs me the most on the other hand with a log type manifold is the fact that the two outer exhaust ports are directly connected, and thus it would be easier for the gasses from one of the outerports to be expelled to the other outer port rather than to the turbine.
