Right, i broke my old jack this week and decided to grab another one today, grabbed a low level halford unit, wasnt expecting it to be much cop but was happily supprised by the quiality for the price. Only cost 31 quid (cheaper than alot of lowlevel jacks) on a trade card! It bulky, the jacking arm swivels which has already proven to be very useful in the one day ive used it...

Worth bearing in mind if you want a half decent jack on a low budget... You can always peel the stickers off *wink*

My jack is a bit shit, i have to push it down after a certain point, and I've tried oiling the ram and all pivots, but considering what i paid for it along with axle stands, a pair of chocks and a creeper i can't grumble!

The boring bloke who runs this place.

Berkshire

My SGS one died really quickly - pap imho.
My halfords one has lasted 12 years (!).

I just bought a Sealey 2500LE though - very nice indeed, but fookin' heavy and too big to use inside the garage..

Quite likely. Clarke stuff looked very similar to when i was shopping around.

I got this set...

Its been really good, only issue is the rubber protecting pad gets squashed and falls out pretty soon.

Well just gone and got one of these, its good but slow to jack up.

Fits under the clio and the metro with relative ease, no need for wooden blocks at the moment.

I refuse to give garage space to any of the cheapo jacks which have that bloody silly system of removing the handle and finding the release valve to let them down.

I have three trolley jacks of varying sizes and often find the need to use them all (usually to get the car up high all round, on stands/ramps)
