having pulled the engine out the mini, I've found the paint has blistered off the bottom of the turbo box so I need to come up with a repair and some possible solution to prevent further deterioration.

I'm thinking of a reflective mat but has anyone got any ideas? What have you done to prevent heat damage?

cheers
Rob

MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

Others just attach aluminium or stainless to the box, anything metallic and shiny really.

that will do for radiation but what about conduction ? you want something non metallic in confined spaces like that imo

why not get yourself a tidy turbo blanket?
they look grate and are built to keep the heat where it should be pushed out the tail pipe... not in the engine bay...

also helps turbo spool? or so the sellers of the blankets say..

The saucepan idea looked quite smart in all honesty, I never realised it was actually a saucepan until I read about it on here haha.
