Hi, and thank you for all your inspiration and knowledge, which has help me to get to this stage

I know this is a Mini Turbo site, and I?m running a Spridget, but we do share the same engine? well almost!

Just built and put the lump in over the weekend, and am very please with the performance (and this is with out the Turbo!), I?ve decided to bed the engine in on carbs, installing the turbo at a later date.

I built the engine for ?fast road? use (I can upload some images at a later date if you?re interested), Here?s the spec to date:

1275 thick walled block bored out to 1380
Omega 11cc dished pistons
Avonbar phase 2 head
MG Metro cam
1.5 roller tip rockers
Cam belt conversion
Wedged, bladed and balanced crank
Lightened and balanced rods
Turbo shells
APR head and big end stud/nuts
Centre mains strap

Later?
RS Turbo T3 (water cooled)
RS Turbo Intercooler

Cheers

What volume do you head chambers have? As unless they are pretty huge, with 11cc pistons and 1380cc displacement, I would hazard a guess that your compression ratio might be slightly high for turbo use?

Tom, I’m running a head has 28cc chambers with the ‘beak’ remover, as I’ve read the ‘beak’ can course a hot spot. To keep the compression up I used 11cc dished piston. Over all CR is 9:1, slightly lower than the metro turbo (9.5:1).

This set up is for ‘everyday’ road use, lots of bottom end and off boost power, with economy and emissions in mind (higher compression/lower boost), I’m hoping to run 8 psi with intercooler
