Hi Every one,

Im just trying to find out if my old Turbo Mini is A; Still going and B: to what extent.....does anyone know if its still going, I was hoping the person who owns it would end up on here at some point.

I basically dreamed of owning a turbo mini ever since buying my first mini magazine when I was 12, with a red ERA turbo on the front cover...it took me until I was 27 to finally get round to it..buying G878 AF...know affectionately as "monster"

The intention was always to have it as a second car so it didn't have to be such a compromise, but financial strain and my daily letting go in a big way meant I had to cobble the turbo together as my daily, and I just never had the money to get the old boy running properly.

After weeks and weeks aaand weeks of trying to sell it to a decent home I ended up being forced to P/x it for a less than desirable 106 GTI...the person who got my mini (and I mean this in the greatest respect) didn't seem to clued up on mechanical so I was never too sure of its fate.

I've regretted it ever since, partly because of the £1000's I put (and lost) into it, but because it was aa child hood dream I should have put in storage until such times I could afford to do it properly..

anyway, thats my life story over and done with hahaha ...oh and good to be back on the forum ...been a long time.

Have you checked to see if it's still on the road?

The DVLA site keeps having a fit and can't find it so I'm going to try it again tomorrow. Its probably worth mentioning I sold it about 2 and a half years ago...its ferrari pearl white

It is currently SORNed. The problem with searching for cars on the DVLA website for Rover group around 1989 is knowing under which marque it was registered, and yours was a 'Rover'

Thanks mate, I literally just jumped on my phone to update the post as id found it under rover
.I'm hoping the SORN is a good thing and its off the road for resto work rather than being dead
