On my Fiat Rad (not yet installed, I'm still using the Mk1 Metro at the moment) the "third" connection isn't really there.

But I can use the sandwich plate to the heater matrix connection on the passenger side and the heater tap on drivers side as normal?

Why not go from the bottom hose into the heater and out to head heater tap? |

The sandwich plate (only used on Metros as an alternative to the No 4 head tapping) and the standard Mini head tappping are both on the "hot" side, and pressurised after the pump. You need one "hot" (either No4 head end or sandwich plate) which is pressurised by the pump and one "cold", suction, ie, before the pump. I made up a Tee piece on the main return line from the front mounted radiator just before it went into the pump suction. Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |
