also posted this on the 16v forum but doesnt hurt to ask you guys too

I have car in the link below.

it has a koso dash fitted, with the astra loom/fuse box.

The indicators are running too fast, failed the mot. It had a 3 pin mechanical flasher relay that does both indicators and hazards i think. plus when i indicate one direction both lights on the dash flash. the front lights are leds so after a bit of forum research i thought that maybe they were not drawing enough current. and fitted an electronic flasher like in the link below

hey presto, now all the external lights work as they should, at the correct speed. BUT...

Now my directional lights on the dash flash all of the time as if the hazards are on, doest make any difference if i indicate or turn the hazards on, they continually flash.

any ideas/suggestions to start with.

Cut the feed(s) to the dash indicators and take them off the front indicators and see how that goes. Should only be on when the indicators are actually on then. Whatever is going on seems a bit strange.

ring problems are down to wear or abuse but although annoying it isn't a show stopper

When I had replaced the (rear) bulbs for LEDs I had this issue.
I opened up the flasher relay and replaced the condensator for a higher capacity one, it solved the problem, although the initial 'flash' holds a bit long.
There must be a more electrotechnical sollution though, but me being a mechanical engineer..........

Dazed and Confused....
