I've been doing a bit of searching but come up with nothing clear.

I'm running an RTS set up. no idea on power for now buts lets say I'd be happy with 150bhp for now. I'm changing the paddle plate for something a little less aggressive.

so the question is, would a standard turbo plate be up to the job, bearing in mind its the rts?

cheers

Rob

a standard non sprung plate would be enough imo or a few extra quid for the ap rally one to be sure

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

the ap turbo plates are a fair bit cheaper than the rally plates though...

Standard are good for around 120 if you read minispares.

I've gone for the road / rally

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

saw that Lee, however I'm considering the increased clamping pressure of the rts

I'm also running the rts or should I say will be.

When I asked the question sprocket and Benross both said AP.

All you can really do is try, but is it not just worth spending that little extra to be sure.

with mine the stock turbo plate gripped to around 200 lbs ft ,then the ap rally plate gripped above that . so on 150 the stock turbo should be ample .

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

yeah eoither the 180mm ap rally plate or the 190mm one, the 190 is cheaper and seems up to the job

just as a comparison. I run a pre verto with ultralight flywheel, machined lightweight backplate and 5 finger paddle clutch.

my brother runs an rts (not sure what springs he has used), along with an ap rally friction plate. I moved his car the other day and the clutch in his is heavier and has a more fierce bite than my current setup

Is that just due to the RTS being stiff and not having as much control on the pedal? Possibly a case for an extended arm?

My RTS is pretty heavy, but usable. Roberts is like a modern clutch with the extended arm.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

well I've ordered a standard AP turbo plate for now.

Perhaps I should think about the extended arm as well.

also running a grey diaphragm on mine. just to add its a nice setup on his, but more vicious than mine! though it does the job, and he is running the std length verto arm.

I might consider going rts in the future, now that there are lightweight verto flywheels available. though I am also considering a superlight pre verto flywheel for my current setup so who knows....

the cable arm ios a bit of a faf but is doable,

I cut a groove in the end of the cable arm so the slave pin could fit, then pushed a bearing race in from each side and put a bolt through...

I was thinking I could make up some bushes instead of the bearings
