Probably domb question but here's the thing. I was placing my mockup engine in the mini and wanted to mach the carb ( n a hiff 44 that wil be modded) to the plenum i got from a member here.. but when i bolt it um to one hole the other side does not match up?


Am i missing something here? Number on the plenum is wfm 1142

Edit again just seen i have 2 different carbs wich i take for hiff 44 but the one on the right does not have the vacuum tube i point out on the one from the left. Yet the rear connection stays the same so there will be the same situation with the plenum. But it does give me a second question. ... what would be the best carb of the 2 to rebuild to turbo spec?

Are sure it's a 44mm carb and not 38mm?

Yes at least i was... i need to mesure it on the butterfly side of the carb and it should have 44 mm right? Always presumed it was one since it came of my 1275 mini from 91 and it was sold as a hiff 44...

Late carb'd 1275s had HIF38s fitted.

Ah crap. Just noticed.. stupd me. The 38 has the oval flange the 44 more square... they are both 38 *frown* hmmm.
