The 0.20 grind on the big ends has cut into the fillet radius, creating an ideal place for a crack to start.

I suppose it all depends on how much of the rad is left at the moment. 10thou a side isn't a lot to leave a decent rad. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

Probably displaying my ignorance again, but should the fillet radius not be re-formed if the crank is ground properly ? |

The radius has either been rolled off centre from the factory, or the crank has been ground off centre, meaning some radius has been cleaned up, some rolling remains and the transition makes a big stress point.. Will get a photo.

I'm going to get it crack tested, then stick it under the bed. Can always regrind to cooper s big ends if I ever use it again. On 7th Oct, 2010 5haneJ said:

If there were anyone I'd talk to about grinding cranks, I'd talk to Simon at SMMC. I'm not sure where you are located but even send it to him from Norway. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |
