Hi guys

I realise this is an unusual problem as KAD camber brackets are easy to fit in most cases, however I am having a bit of an issue with a piece of metal on the subframe stopping them from sitting properly.

The round shaped bit of metal protruding the edge of the subframe is part of the hole that the trunnion pin passes through. It didn't cause any problems when I removed the standard camber brackets as these had a big cut-out in them that allowed the piece of metal to clear the brackets. I have tried to highlight on some photos I took earlier where the piece of "rounded" metal is. It's kind of hard to explain but the holes on the camber bracket are slightly out of line with that on the subframe, almost like the whole bracket could do with being moved inward a few millimeters, thus lining up the holes and also meaning the KAD camber brackets were sitting behind this "rounded" bit of metal protuding from the subframe, solving all the problems - only issue is, the radius arm is preventing the camber bracket from moving inward anymore.

My mate checked his subframe and his KAD camber brackets and he doens't have this bit of "rounded" metal sticking out on his subframe, his looks more rectangular like this...

Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Cheers

Mike

Yep, modify the subframe or bracket. It is usually a sunframe issue as the KAD stuff will likely have been designed around one subframe, but they are not all the same.

Thanks for the replies chaps!

That is reassuring to hear, obviously I don't fancy modifying the KAD brackets as they are quite expensive to start messing about with. I'll grind the lip off the subframe and see how it all goes down.

I didn't realise the subframes varied in design slightly.

I was a bit worried if I didn't get the KAD bracket to sit behind that lip that it wouldn't be safe.

It not that the subframes vary in design, more vary in construction!

Yep think thats the top and bottom of it.....Design of the subframes would be spot on, but it will be the assembly that would vary in tolerances.

I would like to think KAD designed the camber brackets this potential issue in mind..
