What's the actual difference between these?

I've had a search and found info about the 63's being for higher compression variants.

Odd thing is, I've got a piston with 21962 cast on the inside of the skirt, but 21963 stamped on the crown.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

So are they the same casting but the 63's have less machined from the crown?
