I replaced the whole roof skin on my car. It's not difficult just a little awkward and time consuming. Probably a good days labour to replace it in a pro shop.

Best way to remove the roof skin is to cut is as close as you can to the welded seam, then use a small sanding disc on a die grinder to thin the metal down. Using some pliers/grips you can then just peel the remaining lip off and just sand the welds flat ready for the new skin. I found my roof skin was a good snug fit and only fit in one place, so it was clamped and spot welded in place every 10mm 15mm and then sealant put around the edges into the gutter. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

I thought they were continuously 'roller' welded? I'm sure later cars are |

Depends on the age of the car. My 78 shell was spot welded, but some of the shell sections I used were rollered.
