I have some hycote wrinkle paint, now this stuff scares the shit out of me lol.

How is the best way to use it? I will be spraying aluminium.

The can says

2 coats 10 mins between each. After 4hrs apply a heavy coat! ( how heavy)

I did this once before and it looked dog tuard! So I sanded it back and went for a matt paint.

Any help would be nice.

Simon.

I seriously doubt it!

I'm sure I've heard of the use of a hot air gun either before or after application helps it

Tje thin coats are to make grip on tje surface then the thick coat is as thick you can spray without having a runner. So you get a tension on the surface of the dring paint creating the wrinkle

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

finish date set for project 1... march 2018

From my experience with this stuff the secret is to get an even coating because the size of the wrinkles varies with the thickness of the paint coating.

I made a right mess (twice !) of a dashboard until I read this tip.

hot air gun works but it can be tricky to get the wrinkle even, you need a more uniform heat, Ideally an oven on low.

definatly go for the VHT stuff, some brands are crap.

and be warned it stinks!

i did the rocker cover on a twin cam rocker cover a few years ago, it was really patchy. some areas were smooth and others had a really nice rinkle.

i was about to give it another coat to see if that helped when my friend suggested wiping it over with a cloth and some celulose thinners first, and just as i wiped it over, it made the whole thing go really nicely rinckled.

Cheers, I just wanted to make sure that the one Paul recommended was the VHT product.
