hello,

im at a bit of a loss right now as my megajolt isnt doing what i want it to do, i have a tom fenton bracket and pulley that i have run on my sc fuel injection system and it worked perfectly, i have fitted it all exactly the same to my engine but i am now running a megajolt system so i dont belive its a hardware issue. my problem is basically i cant sync the timing light to the laptop/mj.

i have tried two guns both known to work both snap on, one is the old school one with the dial and one is the more modern one with the buttons basically i set the whole map to 0degrees i sync it to the mj box then start the engine and my timing light is telling me 62

i set the whole map to 20 degrees and sync it to the mj and the timing light is telling me 98 i cannot retard the map any further than 0 to try and get the engine running steadily it does run better at 0 than 20

the megajolt is set to 4 cylinders i cannot set the global correction box any further than 5 degrees either way does this sound like a software issure or problem with the mj box or could i have done something wrong somewhere?

i have emailed trigger wheels to see if they can test the box i'm just alittle stumped

many thanks lee

also i'm aware the gun maybe over reading due to the wasted spark system but it still is putting me quite a way out ...

Ok just for search reasons I will follow this up...

I managed to bypass the rev limiter by unplugging the molex plug and using a jumper wire to join the power in to the coil out so the car would run in limp mode my timing was still wildly out!

Now in a moment of frustration before smashing my timing light into a million pieces I remembered I had another edis box so I swapped it and BAM timing is where it should be!

Turns out I had an edis 6 fitted to the car not an edis 4 I can only assume this was the issue

I can't believe it ran at all! But yes it was so far advanced that when I tried to let it idle it was trying to fire the engine backwards almost! The drop gears sounded horrific!!!

But alas these things are sent to try us I must give chris from trigger wheels a mention as he was emailing me back and gave me the idea to bypass the rev limiter so many thanks to him for his help
