Hey all....

Im currently weighing up my engine options on my new shell....

My plans were an a-series 998, with a MG cam, Hif 44, T2 turbo and a 12g295 head running on Megasquirt (on ign only)

Im trying to get around 100bhp however trying to keep fairly good mpg as this will be a daily commuter....

What are you guys getting on your set ups? Or what would i expect to achieve roughly on the above set up?

I know its a vague question to a degree, but im only in need of ball park figures...

Thank you *happy*

If you drive it carefully, it won't be much different from NA, maybe less than 5mpg difference or so.
Just make sure you have it set up properly on a rolling road so it's slightly lean when off boost and light throttle and you should be good.
Obviously if you go round with your foot planted the mpg will suffer a lot though!

On that setup, commuting on A-roads and town centres I was getting 40 to 45. This was with no regard for MPG, just normal driving.

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Ahh so sounds like an ideal set up then to be honest!!

From people i was talking to who hadn't had a similar conversion, were 'guessing' it would be a poor MPG conversion, such as 25-30mpg....

Which is why i thought i would ask on here (i know these types of forum questions are annoying haha)

So anything over the 30 threshold would and has convinced me to go this route!!

Thank you all *happy*

Proper setting up, as always, makes a huge difference. The blobule was doing 25mpg until Robert had a little fiddle with it and it then jumped to 40mpg on a long journey and 35 ish the rest of the time
