Tadley, Hampshire.

Whilst attempting to tidy up my engine bay I have managed to fracture the Turbo oil feed pipe just as it enters the banjo on the engine.

Now I know I should undo the pipe from the Turbo and replace the whole pipe with the same or better - but I know this is going to be an utter bugger and may well use up my entire stock of special words.

So I was thinking.............. I could drill the old pipe out of the Banjo clean up the pipe and silver solder it back in and only lose a 1/4 of an inch!

Alternativelly............. cut the pipe say halfway and take it off for bigger boys to fix and then maybe use a joiner of some sort to put the pipe back on the car. But how to join it??

Creative engineering or bodge? any advice welcomed

Unless you absolutely must have the original look, replace it with a braided or flexible type of hose.

Do not repair the solid pipe. Apart from the solid being being a utter bollox, with engine vibrations etc etc, any repair might not last and it could break causing damage.

I have (temporarily) joined the braided hose from the turbo to a piece of regular flexible oil pipe just using a stepped joiner I made and two clips.

I too could not face ripping all the manifolds off to replace it properly as I am struggling to get the engine running this week.

And I also , some while ago, had the same problem as you first mention and brazed it together - its fine.

rd,
I used the solid metro turbo line from the engine to the area above the clutch ,then connected to that with a braided pipe and a pipe connection that clamped onto the od of the solid pipe .,you could do the same in reverse ? braided from the block take off then conect to the solid .

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM
