I'm in the process of building up the boxes for both the mini and the metro and have picked up another minisport crosspin diff.

Now, while building the diff up, the new one seems a little rough in comparison to the older one however is fine if i pull the output shafts out. It is almost as if the gears are a little close or something.

Now, i'm looking for info from minisport to strip and check the unit, however just looking for your thoughts meantime.

Cheers

Rob

The pins aren't offset like the Minispares one. I had one explode in my box.

My thoughts and feelings above, any forced induction massive power increase, it will fail IMO ok in N/a engines
fit a mknispares one.

Lol..

In the Minispares one I built up the fiber bearing disks/shims that are on the shafts were too thick when bolting it down it made the diff lock up..
I put in the ones from original diff and problem was solved..
Not sure if this could also be the problem in the Minisport version?
Hope above makes sence.

Dazed and Confused....

I had this too with my first MiniSpares one.

It transpired that Rover had made up a batch of thicker fibre washers intended for worn diff assemblies and these had got into MiniSpares supply chain as normal ones and got in the X-pin diff kits.

I too just used some good original ones to make it work right.

The same may have happened to MiniSports supply.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

issue is though is I'm using 'used' fibre washers already. I'll going to strip everything down and have a close look at everything
