Trying to get the car worthy of at least driving to the MOT station but it runs rough and bogs down under acceleration, my AFR is reading 11 on idle is this way too rich? Around 13-14 while accelerating.

At the moment I am running a 20degree map I got off John. Would a different map be better?

Some engine info:
Standard metro pistons
Gt17
Mg metro cam
High lift roller rockers
Worked head by turbo Phil pretty sure it's 24cc
Audi TT intercooler
Standard metro carb needle

Hopefully all that helps
Nick

What rocker clearance? And what oil is in the dashpot,

Also is it Light acceleration or heavy

Not sure on the rocker clearance, they just came with the engine. I think they might be 1.5 with the gold rockers from minispares.

Dash pot oil is 20/50 mineral

Bogs down more under hard acceleration

By rocker clearance I ment valve clearance.

And to be fair it's a little lean to be putting your foot down already. What boost are you at?

12thou valve clearance

This is only testing it on the end of my road so can't really get speed up. I just need to make sure it can drive on the road and not bog down on a junction.

Don't get the chance to make boost on my road with it being so short.

12 is too tight with rollers I'd try around 14 imo and go from there.

Obviously you only have the standard needle in too so it's going to need quite alot of profiling.

The last thing to check is that you megajolt is in sync with your pully. As this can be adjusted by 5 degrees. So if you was 5 degrees retarded on the pully the mj would only be giving the engine 15 degrees of advance

Right I will loosen then off to 14thou.

Yeah I thought that too, I knew the needle would get me started and need a fair bit of work.

How do I check if the MJ is in sync?
Thanks for the help.

You have to use a timing light like normal then you will be able to see from your laptop that your in sync like

Going to pick my mates timing light up in a few mins. How do I check what it is telling me for advance on MJ?
