Play in turbo

I have tried searching for this, but the words 'play' and 'turbo' come up a fair bit on this site...

Ive been put in touch with a local lad whos got a T3 turbo for sale off a ford. But its got a fair bit of play.

Im new to this turbo mallarky, is this easily fixable? and how much is it likely to cost?

or should i just give it a body swerve?

id give it a swerve mate, the play thats supposed to be in turbo's is very small, just noticable really, that fact that he says quite a bit indicates that its bad, not pricey to rebuild, mine has just been done and cost me 170 plus the twat but i am in the truck industry and that was a favour but should'nt be much more mate, no stay clear, gatherin it was prob on a smokey rs or sommat thats never seen a little tlc.

I've got a excellent turbo for sale (T3) £100 + whatever postage costs if your interested.

It has only done at most 4000 miles from new, plus its been looked after.

I'm now running a T2 so I no longer need it.

thanks gippo, im not desperate for a spare though, its just this guy wanted £40 so thought id check it out...ill leave it a week and hell no doubt just give me it.
