Hi guys and Gals.

My name is Ryan and I am years into rebuilding my first car. It is an Aussie 1971 Clubman GT which I bought when I was seventeen. I recently turned 34, and having realised I have had this car for half my life, I have got inspired to get something done.

Here is the hard bit! I AM GOING SUCK THROUGH....

I am fully aware of the limitations of this setup. I have a lot of experience with turbocharged engines. The car is however a collectable car with matching numbers and I want to recreate an example of the early turbo kits of the day.

I believe using modern engine management and ceramic coatings to control hot spots in the combustion chamber, good results can still be had. It will just be a fine balancing act.

Here are some pictures of the engine and gearbox build to date.

We have rods and pistons. Specialised components rods, ARP Bolts, Omega forgies with ceramic coatings. The engine is the same as a MKII "S" but 0.060" Over... Aiming for 9:1 with 12psi.

Gearbox is built with 22G1040 2nd motion, 22G1371 close ration 1st motion, A+ mainshaft (18mm instead of 14mm spigot bearing), 3.105 A+ Final Drive, Quaife ATB, CV's instead of the Hardy Spicers, 1:1 S/C Drop gears.... blah blah (many thanks to Guessworks!) Every gear is new, including 2nd gear! (a place in the Netherlands still has some)

The exhaust side of the manifold is built. I have separated runners 1 and 4 form the runers for 2 and 3 so I can check EGT or AFR for fuel distribution.

Still have heaps to go. Steve BENROSS, please reply to PM regarding head build. Thanks, Ryan
