Just got what I thought was going to be a bog standard 12g940 off a friend which has been sat in his shed for years, in which I was going to modify for turbo use....
But that isn't what I received! It looks to me like its been rebuilt with bigger (read monsterously big) valves, possibly unleaded seat inserts, new stem seals and I don't think its had any porting work done though, although I cant be sure....
So, the Inlets measure a whopping 1.5"/ 37mm(ish) and the Exhausts around 1.3" / 33mm using an ancient caliper (non digital). The head thickness is 73.5mm / 2.9"

So, is this suitable for me to use? (After enlarging the chambers and a mild bit of porting if it needs any)

Looks like a standard head to me

Speeding is like masturbating, everyone does it, but not all of us film it and put it on the internet

How am i supposed to measure them? I'm doing it across the widest point of the face of the valve, and it looks like wherever the inlet valve has been fitted there's a bit machined from the chamber, I'll try and find pictures of my old 1275 head from when i had it off but I'm sure the valves were never that big *indifferent*

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Lake District

From the pictures it looks like a standard 33-29 valved head. There's certainly no way on earth there's a 37mm inlet & 33 exhaust in there. Ports & chambers look standard to.

Phil.

Cheers lads! I am happier knowing it hasn't been molested.
