I have been searching to see if I can use my option switch on the megajolt to create a launch control but can't see if anyone has done this before .

My plan was to use the option2 on a momentary switch under the clutch pedal and isolate it using a secondary switch that can be easily accessed. The idea is I can then flick to option 2 which has the same tuning map but with a rev limit much lower, then once the clutch is released it will revert back to option 1 ( and I will try to flick the over ride switch back to avoid the limiter kicking in when I change gear ) .

My worry was can you toggle between options whilst the engine is at say 3.5k , the instructions just say "on the fly switching"

Has anyone tried this ?

I used to use a similar thing but just using a button. Its not launch control as such, but more a boost builder. Doesnt half make a great noise, and if you manage to get it set right you can find the sweet spot between bogging down and tyre shredding.

This kind of shows it in action, you can just hear the boost build.

That clip is brilliant , I will post my results on here but this is the kind of thing I'm going for with the hard cut rev limiter

It's lasted ok so far. But then again, I don't have it bouncing off the limiter all the time.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

I fitted it to mine after seeing Keans car. Worked a treat with a push button switching the maps 😃

Is that a hard cut limiter.

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

Yup. It's got an old MJ v3 and the extra hard limiter board added. I've not yet played with switching maps to use the limiter to build boost. I think it would be fun, but not convinced how much use it would be on the strip as my car lights the wheels up in first as it is already.

I look into having an amil valve fitted inl the line of the turbo to actuator hose and contrlled by MJ.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ESCORT-RS-TURBO-...=item4ad37fc8e6

As when the valve is open it runs full boost and closed roughly half, its something that was done on my RS but contolled by a button which interutted the signal from the ECU.

Made setting off in first great as only run 9 psi then once in second "press the button" and ECU took over control of the valve and allowed the turbo to run 18 psi.

This could be contrlled by one of the outputs on MJ to activate the solenoid at say 4000 rpm to low boost up to 4000 and high boost after. You could also have a switch to run HIGH Boost all the time.
