No afr, and it was on a metro turbo that ran and I haven't adjusted anything as I assumed it might be somewhere near. Will get a pic of the map later More Boost, More FUN! |

Perished balance pipe on the carb is a strong possibility and easy to replace. |

Had a look earlier and you know the rubber pipe off the actuator. It goes back to a joiner by the turbo? What goes on the other side of that joiner? More Boost, More FUN! |

originally went to the ecu to adjust boost over 5k rpm on the metro or something like that anyway, your best bet is to blank it Low boosting for now. |

Whacked it up to 4 psi and it's now not starting. It was idling then when it hit 4 it spluttered and cut out? More Boost, More FUN! |

Pipe to ECU limits boost to .4 bar to about 3000RPM and then .7 bar over that, acts as an electronic bleed valve in effect. most just block it and then only get .4 bar over the whole rev range. |

I'm surprised you haven't been asked yet, but what fuel pump are you running? On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

possibly a stupid question but is there oil in the carb damper? If not the carb wont operate properly and have you got a boost gauge to check what the turbo produces at 3000 rpm? Masturbation is not a crime its a hobby |

Hi mate. Haven't got an afr yet but still gonna do it but gonna try a carb re-build first. As it's done flat out I've noticed but it's when you come off the throttle I think it's over fuelling now as that's when it struggles. Also I took the pipe off the plenum that return the regulator and that's was full of fuel. Which leads me to believe something is sticking. Got an idea it's the seal where the needle passes through.

Right guys. Back at it again now after a week away. Spoke to ian at avr and got a rebuild kit and a new needle as the old needle had a slight kink in it I could feel. So rebuilt with a new needle ian suggested just tried it and same problem. Is there anyone who could set it up for me without the the need for me installing an afr? Or is it literally the only way to go?
