Hi there been building my turbo over the last few months just took it out on road for first time yesterday. Seems to run okay under 3000rpm.

However, anything above it coughs splutters and dies in power.

Running megajolt system too so first question is do people think it's more fuel related issue?

Or mapping?

Thanks in advance. Dan

What MAP are you running ?

Have you got a AFR fitted ?

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

No afr, and it was on a metro turbo that ran and I haven't adjusted anything as I assumed it might be somewhere near. Will get a pic of the map later

Perished balance pipe on the carb is a strong possibility and easy to replace.

Had a look earlier and you know the rubber pipe off the actuator. It goes back to a joiner by the turbo? What goes on the other side of that joiner?

originally went to the ecu to adjust boost over 5k rpm on the metro or something like that anyway, your best bet is to blank it

Low boosting for now.

Whacked it up to 4 psi and it's now not starting. It was idling then when it hit 4 it spluttered and cut out?

Pipe to ECU limits boost to .4 bar to about 3000RPM and then .7 bar over that, acts as an electronic bleed valve in effect. most just block it and then only get .4 bar over the whole rev range.

I've got an avonbar actuator on it which is set accordingly to about 7 ish psi at the moment. Just seems to be all over the place with fuel?

I'm surprised you haven't been asked yet, but what fuel pump are you running?

It's a sytec one? I drove it in the metro so I know it does work with this. That's one of the things I can't get my head around. There is something stupid some where I'm doing wrong

Where do you put the lambda sensor though Benross? Does that mean I need another downpipe?

Just drill a hole and weld a nut? Any specific location it needs to go

The Black Countraaaaay

possibly a stupid question but is there oil in the carb damper? If not the carb wont operate properly and have you got a boost gauge to check what the turbo produces at 3000 rpm?

Hi mate. Haven't got an afr yet but still gonna do it but gonna try a carb re-build first. As it's done flat out I've noticed but it's when you come off the throttle I think it's over fuelling now as that's when it struggles. Also I took the pipe off the plenum that return the regulator and that's was full of fuel. Which leads me to believe something is sticking. Got an idea it's the seal where the needle passes through.

So gonna rebuild the carb and try that as a first straw

Right guys. Back at it again now after a week away. Spoke to ian at avr and got a rebuild kit and a new needle as the old needle had a slight kink in it I could feel. So rebuilt with a new needle ian suggested just tried it and same problem. Is there anyone who could set it up for me without the the need for me installing an afr? Or is it literally the only way to go?

Look forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks again in advance

Dan
