I've got a minimum of 3 gearboxes to build over the coming weeks, and two of them have got externally manky cases, all oxidey and furry.

Wire wheel drill if it's the outside? I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Could leave the old bearings in while doing the blasting to protect the surfaces. Soda blasting worked a treat on my gearbox. |

I blast cases all the time and don't protect any bearing housings. With fine grit/soda you won't have any issues. |

Yep, we blast aluminium crankcases, cam boxes etc..all the time at work and have no problems. We use really fine grit in our blaster and it leaves a nice finish on the machined surfaces. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel
