Pulled out of a 80ies 998 Mini. (The engine had one rod poking out beside the fuel pump as well )

I don't think I have any photos (I'll look later) but I had one wear more than that on my N/A MG Metro (which later became the donor for the Mini project).

When it wore all the way through, at the the end without the rollpin, that bit fell out and got trapped between crownwheel and gearbox casing, punching a large hole.

I felt a "jerk in the drivetrain but still had drive, the first I realised something bad had happened was when I saw the clouds of blue smoke in my rearview mirror as the gearbox slowly emptied its oil onto the hot exhaust....

One scrap late (3 bolt) casing unfortunately.
