I killed several batteries over the years, until i realised that Gel/optima type batteries need a different charger.
Too many projects! |

This is what I want to hear ![]() Denis you probably know then skylines seem to bequite heavy on the batterys for some daft reason any theory on why? Skylines in general seem to have a low charge voltage13.8-14v ish could this be the cause? g always just put it down to heavy parasitic draw and tiny little battery's. i mean the battery is the same size (give or take) as that used in a honda jazz, yet has to start a 2.5/.6 litre engine via ~2.5m of cabling. if a battery was good itd be fine, but you couldnt leave it sitting for months without a charger due to parasitic draw(unless it had a kill switch), and you couldnt start the car for a week solid just to run it in and out of the workshop. was a real issue for us in that respect, to the point where we would run a skyline up to temp every time we started it even if it was just getting moved out the workshop to give the battery a fighting chance (and prevent flooding on the big HP ones). Ment puttng fuel in the cars regularly but still cheaper than a battery, and saved teh hassle of pulling and cleaning sparkplugs every other day. if we knew a car would be sitting, it got a full charge, and then the battery disconnected. turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)
