Trying to complete a project that I bought off someone all going well but I have just noticed that the brake disks are grinding against the calipers. The calipers are 4 pots from minispares. The disks are 7.5 inch. But look to be a few mm over 7.5. Would this be the problem? Are the disks slightly too large.? Should I have more than a few mm clearance between the disks and calipers? What is the standard clearance? The disks are vented and grooved and the wheels are 13's. I could get the disks machined to reduce then but then the pads will over hang by whatever I machine off the disks. I could file the calipers but I really don't want to start messing with those.

If anyone has had this type of issue before and can provide a fix, I would be very interested to hear form you.

I could buy new disks and calipers but how do I know they will fit and not have the same problem? And that's going to be bloody expensive on top of what I've already spent *wink*

Thanks

The disk already came with it. The disk are only a few mm too large I'd say. Closer to 7.5 than 7.9. Unless the bloke bought 7.9 and machined them down.

I'll try posting a pic

The rubbing on the calipers is only on a small area. If I machine the disk my pads will be slightly larger and will have a over hang cut out one they start to wear.
